Themes and goals:
In Europe permeability between different education sectors is still a challenge, as it is difficult for NEETS to continue their school education, in case they have dropped out of school for a long period of time. Moreover, recently arrived adolescent/young adult immigrants/refugees face significant challenges to enter the formal school system and acquire any qualification. In addition, regarding permeability between VET and Higher Education Sectors, although some improvements have been made, more effort is needed to remove barriers between VET and HE sectors. This thematic monitoring seminar aspires to bring the dialogue and good practices on permeability between different sectors.
Expected results:
• Share practices and provide monitoring on ongoing projects focusing on flexible schooling environments for NEETs (ex. work-based learning pathways for adolescents, Second Chance Schools for young Adults)
• Increase awareness of good practice examples regarding education of recently arrived adolescent/young adults with an immigrant/refugee status
• Identify good practices of permeability between VET and HE sectors
• Identify obstacles for transition between different education levels
• Identify potential synergies between the SE, VET, HE sectors that could lead to new inclusive educational pathways
• Contribute to the discussion on the inclusion component of the new Programme
Additional information:
The NA will organise a TCA thematic meeting on the permeability between different education levels. TCA participants will discuss on how to widen and strengthen alternative access through validation of non-formal and informal learning so as to allow permeability in all levels of education, namely between School education, VET and Higher Education. We consider that this topic is highly relevant with the priority of inclusion and equity in education, in terms of providing flexible education pathways for all.

Themes and goals of the event:
Goal of the event is to support representatives of preschool institutions in professionalization of their knowledge and skills within planning and realization of educational international cooperation projects. To full fill that goal we offer teachers, headmasters and workers of preschool institutions attendance in a training supported by trainers, who are experts in planning and realizing international projects. Participants will work in teams on the draft of projects concerning their interest, so groups will decide on themes of projects concerning ECEC, important from the point of view of their institutions and local communities.

Children are genuine researchers, and their interest in natural phenomena opens endless opportunities to investigate their immediate environment and embark on an adventure to the world of natural sciences. How can learning environments support and encourage this learning and strengthen the value of natural sciences from an early age? Early childhood education should give children the skills to observe, structure and understand their surroundings. Teaching methods should promote play, creativity and joyful learning. The world of science offers countless possibilities for different pedagogical activities. Also, the possibility to use digital methods makes learning visible and interactive, and at the same time children can strengthen their skill to use digital tools. This contact seminar gives educators an opportunity to learn, share experiences, discuss challenges and find alternative ways to increase natural sciences teaching in kindergartens and first years of school. The seminar brings together early childhood education and care professionals from different European countries, giving them the possibility to network and learn from the ideas and practices from the European colleagues. The contact seminar offers an opportunity for school leaders and teachers to work together on topics of mutual interest. You will receive information about the Erasmus+ programme in general and Key Action 2 – School Exchange Partnerships in particular. During an Erasmus+ School Exchange Partnership pupils and teachers work together in international teams on a chosen topic. During the seminar you will develop project ideas for Erasmus+ School Exchange partnerships and start preparing your project application. The topic of your School Exchange Partnerships will be your free choice. We will, however, contentwise focus on impulses and best practice examples of how to use creative arts as a path to inclusion during an Erasmus+ School Exchange partnership.
“Inclusion” basically means equal access and opportunities for everyone. In school it is a lot about designing the learning environment and methods in such a way that all pupils are properly supported in their learning processes – no matter of race, gender, social and economic background or any kind of special needs. Creative arts can be used to improve inclusion in school partnership projects. Creative expression through painting, singing, dancing, drama can strengthen group building, emotional intelligence, curiosity and empathy. All pupils can take part according to their abilities. Different levels of language skills or intercultural differences can also be compensated by working together in a creative way.
We would like to invite you to discuss ways to use creative arts at your school and in international project work to improve inclusion and develop project ideas for your Erasmus+ application in 2020. Please understand that we will not have the time to carry out creative workshops on different topics because our main aim will be to form school partnerships and work on project ideas.
Expected results:
Participants will develop project ideas and start preparing their project application during the contact seminar.

School guidance counselors and teachers who work with transition and restitution.
Themes and goals:
This year Denmark will be hosting a study visit for guidance counsellors, school leaders and teachers who work with education and guidance in secondary level education (pupils 13-16 years). The main topic of the thematic activity is career learning and career guidance in secondary education and the transition from lower to upper secondary education. How can career learning be actively implemented in lower and upper secondary education, when should it start, which teaching competences are needed and which factors play an important role? Furthermore, the visit will also look at/touch upon career learning as a method to foster student retention and the prevention of early school leaving among secondary pupils. The programme will include introductions and presentations on the first day and later there will be visits to Danish schools, institutions and projects, which work with career learning and career guidance in secondary education. All participants are expected to contribute actively to the discussions and exchange experiences and best practice.
Expected results:
The overall aim of the study visit is to give the participants new inspiration and knowledge about career guidance and career learning in secondary school and to exchange experiences in a European context. How can career guidance and career learning contribute to and qualify the pupils’ choice of upper secondary education? How can career learning and career guidance be a strategy to foster student retention preventing early school leaving?

Themes and goals:
Reducing the numbers of young people leaving school early is a key investment not only in the prospects of each one of its young people but also in the future prosperity and social cohesion of the EU in general”(Tackling early school leaving: A key contribution to the Europe 2020 Agenda)
Preventing early school leaving is one of the top priorities in Europe. There are many reasons why pupils are in risk of dropping out of school: e.g. personal or family problems, learning difficulties, or fragile socio-economic situation. In addition, the way the education system is set up, school climate and teacher-pupil relations are also important factors to take into consideration when addressing the issue.
The purpose of Flexible Basic Education (FBE) is to support pupils in grades 7–9, who are at risk of leaving school without the basic education certificate. Flexible Basic Education is provided in compliance with the statutes applicable to basic education and the National Core Curriculum in Finland. A local authority may provide instruction preparing for basic education, voluntary additional basic education and activities within Flexible Basic Education in conjunction with grades 7 to 9. The national programme for Flexible Basic Education (Joustavaperusopetus, JOPO, in Finnish) was launched already in 2006.
FBE aims to reduce the number of drop-outs in basic education and to prevent exclusion by strengthening pupils’ life management skills and their motivation to study. In addition, for pupils to complete the basic education syllabus, they are supported in their transition to the next stage of education and training and their capabilities for studying are developed. FBE is intended for those pupils in grades 7–9 who are underachieving in their studies and lack study motivation. FBE is also targeted for pupils who are assessed to be at risk of exclusion from further studies and working life. Cooperation between professional groups and various branches of administration and organizations is highlighted in the guidelines. Vocational institutions and general upper secondary schools, non-formal adult education institutions and youth workshops may also take part in this cooperation. Many innovative teaching methods and activities developed in Flexible Basic Education have proved to reduce drop-outs.
The aim of the seminar is to offer European teachers a forum to learn and exchange new ideas and tools to tackle early school leaving.

Themes and goals of the event:
Diversity, equity, equality, non discrimination are among the features that democratic societies should seek to attain in order to honour their “social contract” commitments towards their citizens. These should also be priorities for applicants wishing to benefit from the Erasmus+ programme and it is true that they are often quoted as such in KA2 applications. Still, from identifying the less advantaged with a view to preparing a robust application up to project implementation level, when social groups most in need might prove difficult to reach and persuade, let alone to involve, the route to inclusion needs to be adequately supported to yield fruit.
School is the first place where inequality might occur as a result of gender, disability, educational difficulties, economic disadvantage or different ethnic or migrant backgrounds; at the same time, for some children it may be the only tool that can prevent school dropout and marginalization.
In Greece the Role Models initiative was undertaken by the Erasmus+ National Agency merely because of the potential it holds in terms of social inclusion, namely the prevention of Early School Leaving.
The NA designed and applied intervention actions on a solid scientific background that were much appreciated by schools and their communities and provided useful, tangible results on the essence of social inclusion. An additional component of the pilot programme was implemented in the Higher Education sector. Psychology students received intensive training in order to participate in peer counseling activities with 1st year university students at risk of drop out.
This thematic monitoring seminar aspires to bring the dialogue and practices on social inclusion, one step further by facilitating the exchange of views among those who have strived to identify and address the causes that (may) lead specific target groups to be excluded from the potential that the 21st century Europe can offer to its citizens. Particular emphasis will be given to good practice examples preventing and/or tackling drop out in the School, VET and HE sectors.
Participants will also be encouraged to contemplate the why (and possibly the “why not”) and the how of inclusion and enrich the notion of inclusiveness with their contributions.
Expected results:
• To share practices and provide monitoring on ongoing projects focusing on Early School Leaving and University dropout as social inclusion impediments
• Increase awareness of Early School Leaving and University dropout as distinct social exclusion patterns
• Highlight and maximise the potential of the Role Models initiative for preventing exclusion and exchange good practice examples among NAs

Themes and goals of the event:
CONNECTOR is a space aiming to bring together professionals passionate about learning in a participative and interactive manner, with a focus on practical experience. The event is based on sharing, learning and testing.
Why CONNECTOR?
Learning by doing and focusing on the participants needs and experience are key elements to personal and professional development.
With these in mind, the main objectives of the event are:
– to put together learning facilitators from different sectors and create synergies in order to create connections between non-formal learning, formal education and vocational training;
– to promote non-formal learning in Europe and Romania;
– to develop a space for identifying the common needs and challenges of all the stakeholders involved;
– to develop solutions for the identified needs and challenges through projects and network activities;
– to create a collaborative space for sharing methods, instruments, practices and efficient ideas for learning;
– to create future European partnerships, eligible under Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps Programmes;
– to offer a set of methods and principles with large applicability in the learning environment and develop online tools available for the learning facilitators after the event.
How will CONNECTOR happen?
The event is based on sharing, learning and testing.
Sharing
After the official opening and a short presentation about the history and purpose of the event we will start working. The entire event is a space of testing and sharing ideas, methods, good practices.
Learning
One day and a half will be focused on learning and developing knowledge, skills and attitudes. Brains and emotions will be equally involved in this process. Learning methods and tools will be shared by experienced facilitators in parallel workshops and training courses (one workshop per participant).
Testing & planning
Participants will test the methods using performances or other type of interactive activities on a targeted audience. After learning and testing participants will have the opportunity to debrief, deconstruct, and plan their professional future through guided sessions.
The participants will also have the opportunity to plan future activities and develop future European partnerships.

Themes and goals of the event:
Bihor County comprises kindergarten, primary, secondary, vocational and guidance units for pupils with a range of special needs. Extensive experience (over 40 years now) in designing and conducting programmes in special needs and inclusion conducted us to a successful education and rehabilitation on the topic. Here, you will find a network of educational institutions, NGOs and medical rehabilitation services, all working together and fully addressed to the children with different types of disabilities. Our specialists – from special education teachers to school counsellors, head masters, and representatives of child protection interact and build together with parents, civil society to develop and implement policies and procedures ensuring equal opportunities and social inclusion for SEN children and young pupils.
We emphasize learning process on practical rather than theoretical knowledge. By the end of the study visit, participants will have deeper insights about addressing special needs students, the dynamics underlying social and vocational inclusion, the good local practices and partnerships in providing our services. They will also have observed and analyzed methodologies and techniques for early intervention, intellectual and learning disabilities and have discussed outcomes with our specialists and policy makers. They will also have the opportunity to network and initiate collaborations on inclusion and special needs topics on further Erasmus+ projects.
We would like:
• To share our local experiences in educational services for SEN children and young people;
• To offer a good practice model on how children access and engage in their education and how teachers / professionals are empowered to support them in this;
• To emphasize project-based approach and functional partnerships: formal education – NGOs – medical services;
• To encourage the networking in the framework of Erasmus+ and Strategic Partnerships focused on pupils with SEN.
The participants will learn about:
• The educational policies and procedures aimed for SEN students and how are they translated in our local context;
• The Project Based Pedagogy in the context of E.U. funding local and county educational projects, focused on pupils with SEN;
• The importance and impact of locally really functional partnerships for rehabilitation and access to the labour market of SEN students: institutions (public authorities), schools, medical services and NGOs, all acting together for the community benefit;
• Pathways for educational, vocational and personal development of SEN students;
• The methodology of early intervention for disabled children and its effectiveness to school and social integration;
• How to position towards and support families of SEN children (emotional, physical, financial, medical aids);
• New educational approaches (including teaching methods, assistive devices, curricula adaptation and so on) for best performing of the pupils with intellectual disability, sensory disability, learning disabilities reflected in situ.
Participants:
• Will discuss and debate on topics related to the SEN field;
• Will visit schools and other institutions which provide specialized education for SEN students, which successfully implemented educational projects financed by E.U.;
• Will observe, analyse and interact with professionals (school counsellors, speech therapists, psycho–pedagogues, physiotherapists, educators and medical staff) about specific intervention methodologies and techniques;
• Will attend open discussions, workshops and round table meetings focusing on the topic of the visit;
• Will meet with officials from education, county authorities and local representatives of relevant NGOs in addressing services for children with SEN.
• Will discover more about Erasmus+ opportunities.
The participants will:
• meet decision makers at local and regional level, school head teachers, special education teachers, medical staff working with SEN children;
• visit day centres for children with disabilities, schools and rehabilitation institutions which provide specialized education and medical treatment for the children;
• attend debates, open discussions, round table sessions and assist teaching activities focusing on the topic of the visit;
• have the opportunity to share experience, analyse the potential of transferability to their own school environments of the good practices observed here;
• have the possibility to connect with the local/regional institutions in order to develop further cooperation activities within the framework of Erasmus + Programme.

The training goal is to improve the level of key competences and skills, related to professional profile of the participants, in particular through:
• Encourage a greater understanding of equality in educational settings and inclusive education.

Tematyka i cele
Zgłoszenia szkół do programu Erasmus+ często prezentują niski poziom umiejętności przygotowania propozycji projektu spójnej w zakresie analizy potrzeb, formułowania celów, działań, rezultatów i adekwatności do priorytetów programu Erasmus+.
Odpowiedzią na taką diagnozę jest cel szkolenia – wsparcie nauczycieli i dyrektorów szkół w procesie profesjonalizacji ich wiedzy i umiejętności planowania i realizacji międzynarodowych projektów w następujących obszarach:
Szkolenie zostało przygotowane we współpracy pięciu Narodowych Agencji: polskiej, włoskiej, szwedzkiej, hiszpańskiej i słowackiej oraz wsparte przez trenerów będących ekspertami w dziedzinie planowania i realizacji projektów międzynarodowych. Uczestnicy będą pracować w grupach nad szkicami projektów dotyczących ich zainteresowań. Grupy będą miały możliwość wyboru tematów projektów ważnych dla nich z punktu widzenia reprezentowanych organizacji oraz społeczności lokalnych. Efektem szkolenia ma być wzrost liczby dobrych jakościowo partnerstw międzyszkolnych.
